During the crisis in general contracting services segment the number of orders decreased and competition increased. Only the biggest operators managed to withstand this. Then BB also held ranking of general contracting companies and, if to compare those results with the results today, one can see that the composition, like leadership, remained virtually unchanged.

 Rating BB includes 12 most popular general contracting companies working in the real estate market of Ukraine.

The main criterion for the rating was the total area of constructed projects and projects under construction in the period 2010 - March 2011.

The major consumers of services of general contractors - development companies and builders were involved to ranking compile, as well as companies somehow dealing with the results of the general contractors - consulting companies and real estate agencies. Each of the respondents was asked to name the most popular general contracting companies in the country that received the greatest number of orders and executed the most work in the period 2010 - March 2011.

Most frequently mentioned companies were selected. After that information regarding the number of objects located in Ukraine, in which the company had general contracting work in the past year and continues work today was requested, as well as the total area of these objects. Objects, which were contracted, but works itself, for whatever reasons, was not / is not conducted, were not considered in the rating of the company.

Total number of respondents identified about 70 companies. BB chose 18. The companies “Poznyakizhilstroy”, “Obolonzhitlobud” and SOE “Zhitloinvest-UKB” reported previously that they not position themselves as general contractors. Query data from “Kyivmiskbud”  “hang” "at the stage of counting square. m. As the deadlines for providing information expired and BB had to exclude the company from the ranting.

It should be noted that BB already conducted a similar rating in 2009, the leader was the general contracting company “Consol LTD”. The total area of ​​the operator then amounted to 1 million square meters. This year the operator, after extensive communications with BB did not provide the necessary information.

At present, the top three companies are: “Altis-Holding”, “ K.A.N. Story” and “Osnova-Solsif”. Total area of projects is more than 350,000 square meters.

It is important to emphasize that the total area of projects of “Altis-Holding” and “Osnova-Solsif” was reduced in comparison with 2009. At that time “Altis-Holding” had 809,648 square meters, the "Osnova-Solsif" - 870,163 square meters.

Most likely, this can be explained by the fact that in 2009 BB took into account the objects of participants, regardless of the pace of their construction  because in most cases they were related to the financial difficulties of its customers. This year, BB decided to include only those facilities which have been already constructed, or which are under construction.
