The volume of construction works in Ukraine decreased
According to official Goskomstat data, in January-May 2010 the enterprises of Ukraine carried out construction work on the $ 11 billion hryvnia, which represents 80% of the total work performed during the same period in 2009.
-- Reducing the level of construction in January-May 2010 recorded
on all types of construction activity, except for work on the
preparation of construction sites. The overall trend has been most
influenced by the activities of companies engaged in construction
of buildings and structures - among them significantly (by 57.1%)
decreased the volume of work of enterprises engaged in construction
of bridges, road viaducts, tunnels and subways. Also decreased the
amount of work on construction of buildings (22,8%), roads,
airfields, sports facilities, equipment (22%) and local pipelines,
communication lines and power supply (by 20,6%).
Simultaneously, the volume of work of enterprises engaged in assembling and installation of prefabricated structures, increased in comparison with the corresponding period of 2009 to 11,2%.
The most significant decline in construction was recorded in Transcarpathia, Volyn and Chernivtsi regions (in 52,9-54,5%). Simultaneously, the increased volume of work performed in Zaporozhye, Poltava and Zhytomyr regions (10,9%, 11,0% and 0,8% respectively). More than half of the total volume of construction work performed by enterprises in four regions - Donetsk, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk and Kyiv regions.
