The UDHEEP project, ‘Improving energy efficiency in the centralized heating sector of Ukraine’ (Ukraine District Heating Energy Efficiency Project), is a project of the Ukrainian government, financed by a loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), with the aim of increasing energy selfsufficience of Ukraine. The project provides funding for the implementation of new technologies that reduce the consumption of non-renewable natural resources, diminish environmental pollution by modernization, and improvement of the quality of centralized heating services for end-users by investing in the reconstruction and replacement of major productive assets. The contract provides for the planning and design, manufacturing, transportation, assembly, installation, and preparation for operation of municipal facilities within the central heating system of the city (pump units and boiler rooms), as well as training of the customer staff.

A complete replacement of five SWG6kV, a retrofit of SWG6kV, a replacement of nineteen pump units with modern new ones with the capacity of electric motors ranging from 250 to 630 kW, and the implementation of automated pump control systems based on ten frequency-regulated drives of the new generation with a capacity of 6 kV are all provided.
